I will take this fire,
It shall burn me
To the fire torches me asunder.
No sheet of ice
Shall stop me in my place,
With the cold biting and hurtful
To freeze me here where I stand.
I will stay alive,
To walk this road;
Alone if I must
And with company to hold.
I will face these demons
That snarl and bite,
Hiding deep within the depths,
The heart of Darkness, their home.
Fight fairly and brave, I will stand
With clash of steel and stone.
I will see the Master, humble and tall
He stands with Scythe in hand
Beckoning for me to come Home.
Not yet, my friend, not yet
For I have much to do.
I shall protect those whom I love,
My heart in their hands,
To decide my destiny is their whim.
They shall save me,
To stave away the darkness
That lurks us, its prey,
Waiting for the moment
To feast.
No matter,
Come pain, horror or death.
I will embrace it all.
Hither fire, ice and storm.
I shall welcome you too.
A life worthy of living
Is the one we love to push us
Onward, ever closer to the Void.
With candle in hand,
Burnt so badly at both ends,
I will walk this road,
My road,
The only one I've know.
For the show must go on.

I have absolutely no idea what inspired this but I guess it was something my father said today.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis is really great. I love how in the beginning you talk about how you will let the fire burn you and face the demons but still stand brave. I think that is great in itself. But then later on, you say that you will not fall just yet for you have to protect those you love. That makes me believe that you are fighting this battle for them and I think that is very noble. This is just an amazing poem. Very well written and it is inspiring. And the imagery it awesome! It's one thing to hear (or in this case, see since I'm reading it) the words, but to feel them and understand what is being said is a whole new story.
